Food Waste Recycling

Waterlink is able to offer food waste removal and recycling to the food trade.

Food waste from commercial food preparation can be stored locally using the Meiko MicroVac system which takes food waste for local hygienic storage.

This waste is then routinely collected using our vacum suction lorries which avoid any manual contact with the waste products and taken to our facilities where it is processed into: nutrient rich, peat free, sustainable compost.

This compost is then available for growers and farmers.

Along with food waste recycling to compost we are also able to provide green and organic waste removal for recycling into compost. The modern facilities include temperature monitoring and management to ensure the recycling process pasteurises the waste to ensure seed destruction, providing a useful compost, fertiliser and soil conditioner.

The composting process complies with ABPR - Animal By-Products Regulations and is carried out in such a way as to reduce or remove the effects of odour on the local population both during processing / composting and at the compost application stage.

Waterlink is also able to arrange commercial removal for recycling of:

  • Cardboard and Paper
  • Wood
  • Various Plastics
  • Aggregates
